About Louno Space

STEAM education from
inside the space industry

Louno Space was founded by Mirko Viviano, a payload systems engineer at Airbus Defence & Space who has worked on ESA missions and on technology now operating on the Moon. As a STEM Ambassador he kept meeting children with enormous curiosity about space, and almost nowhere to take it. Most science clubs ran from a kit. Louno Space was built to close that gap.

Why we exist

Space is for
every child

Attitudes to science and engineering are largely formed before secondary school. We put real engineering, real constraints, real failures, real second attempts, in front of children at the age when it counts, and we actively expand into schools where STEM access is limited.

Louno Space Education CIC is a registered Community Interest Company: our mission is legally locked, and surplus is reinvested into access, bursary places, new schools, better missions, not distributed to shareholders.

What that means in practice

✓  Subsidised places every term for families who need them

✓  Deliberate expansion into high-deprivation catchments

✓  Accounts and community-benefit reports publicly filed

✓  Pricing set to cover costs, not to maximise margin

How we work

The engineering standard,
applied to education

Designed like spacecraft

Every session is built to a written engineering standard, five fixed phases, timed to the minute, with the failure modes named and designed out. Not pulled from a kit.

Mission Specialists, trained in-house

Our tutors are DBS-checked, safeguarding-trained and certified through our own programme before they run a session. The same tutor returns every week, so children build a relationship.

Mixed ability by design

Every mission has a floor, what the least confident child completes, and a ceiling for the fastest. Both are written into the lesson plan before a session ever runs.

“Every child who walks into one of our sessions is capable of becoming an engineer, a scientist, or an astronaut. Our job is to show them what that path looks like, through hands-on missions, not textbooks.”

Come and see a session

The fastest way to understand Louno Space is to watch children mid-mission. Teachers: book a free assembly. Parents: tell us your school.
